Help Our Boys Live Their Soccer Dream!

Our boys Mason, Shawn, Gabe, and Mohamed have been playing soccer together since they were just 3 years old. They started playing on the Saturday morning rec fields of the Hamilton Twp Soccer Club and have moved on to a travel team called Force. Our Force team has many great players, but these four have been together the longest. They live and breath the game of soccer, and their heroes are European players like Messi and Rooney.
In May, these boys decided to go up against players from DE, NJ, and PA for a chance to be among the 18 boys selected to form a team traveling to Ireland to play in the Emerald Cup at the University of Limerick. They played hard for three hours in the mud as they were evaluated by Division I College coaches. Mohamed was evaluated by a goalkeeper trainer for the Swiss National Team! It was hard work, and we all waited nervously for the roster to be posted.
Amazingly, ALL FOUR WERE SELECTED!!!!!!!
This trip is a dream come true for these talented and hard working boys. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to play against some of the best youth squads in Europe on the best fields in all of Ireland. University scouts attend, and there have been kids offered opportunities in the past. When the last boys team went in 2013, they played the Manchester City Youth Squad!
As parents, we want to make this dream come true for them. As some of you know, Shawn's dad Shawn has been coaching these boys from the very beginning, along with help from Gabe's older brother Gio. Our coaches want to see these boys walk onto the pitch, and play their hearts out.
The trip will be expensive. The cost for each boy is $2,500, which includes 8 days of lodging in the University dorms, all meals, training sessions with UEFA trainers, tickets to a professional Limerick FC game with a chance to play on the field at halftime, a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher, a welcome banquet in a castle, air, all ground transportation, etc.
We will be fundraising all year to help pay for the boys including a yard sale, and possibly a tournament. In the meantime, we thought we would set up this page for anyone who wants to help. This is a great way to help as part of a birthday or holiday gift!
