Rick's Medical Fund

Rick has been sick since the beginning of May. Slowly he has been going down hill.  Beginning of June, Rick hasn't been walking the straightest nor functioning very well. On Wednesday June 21st, Rick's left side of the body went numb and couldn't feel his arm. DeAnna had brought him into the ER in New Ulm thinking he was having a stroke. New Ulm did a cat scan on Rick to find out what was wrong. Tests came back saying his brain was swelling up. No stroke.  He got rushed to the cities by ambulance to Abbott Northwestern Hospital.  When he arrived, he had more tests done. Thursday June 22nd, he was told he needed to have brain surgery done. Friday June 23rd, Rick went into surgery at 2pm. Everything went well with surgery and did a lot of resting. Saturday June 24th, Rick started Therapy at the hospital. The therapy he did was working on walking and doing stairs. He walked a little slower.  As Rick did the stairs, he did a good job going down but struggled on his way back up. Having troubles to figure out how to move his left arm up the railing. After he completed the stairs, he was a little wore out. Tests came back and found out his brain swelled up from an infection of his tooth that spread up to the brain. Sunday June 25th, Rick has improved a lot more with his walking and not being so confused all the time.

At this time, we are unsure of the date of discharge. He will continue therapy and taking a lot of medication at home. We are asking for any donation to help Rick pay for all the medical bills due to Rick not having any Health Insurance.  Will keep posted when we find out more! Thank you for the thoughts and prayers!
