Hurricane Dorian relief with Coach Yo

My name is Yolett McPhee-McCuin,  While I'm mainly known as the Head Women’s Basketball coach at Ole Miss, but also as someone that was Born and Raised in Freeport Grand Bahama where currently Category 5 Hurricane Dorian has hovered for two days, causing catastrophic damage to my beloved  little island. 

 I am raising money because in the days, weeks, months after Hurricane Dorian moves along, both Grand Bahama and the neighboring Abaco Island will Be in desperate need! The majority of those islands' built infrastructure both private and commercial, is under water including hospitals & Airports. There is, at present, no water; and there will be no power/electricity I suppose. This is the worst our country has likely ever seen.  

I’m beginning relief efforts now so that once the storm has passed and we’re able to provide relief we can immediately.  I’d like to not only help with the provision for supplies & essentials but also counseling/mental care support as the hurricane has taken an unimaginable emotional and psychological toll on adults and children from young to old alike.

My family and I pledge to personally donate 5k to this effort and my plan is to distribute it and additional contributions to various organizations around the Bahamas that are truly supporting  the relief, recovery and wellness of Bahamian people! Once the airports open up I will personally make a trip to ensure funds are use to REBUILD our beautiful Island not only physically but mentally.

Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for: I'm a Bahamian. Born and raised where the catastrophy took place and spent my summers in Abaco when i was young.

How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible): Funds will be spent on Essentials (i.e.) generators, tarps, Butane Stoves, Transportation from Abaco to Nassau, Water, Batteries, Toiletries and baby items.Flash Lights, Non perishable food items, Clothing.
Mental Health Care: A team of health and wellness specialist along with volunteers will travel to the Bhamas after my season. I'd like to house them and feed them.

Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies: One funds are withdrawn (hopefully soon), I can begin with my relief efforts.
