Medical Bills for Tara!

Tara has been struggling with respiratory ailments for 7 years now. Her initial diagnosis of severe refractory asthma only touches the surface. Through the barrels and barrels of medications that would prove useless in helping her control her symptoms and sent from specialist to specialist she would happen upon one who would not give up! Some procedures and a biopsy later it was found that she also had a condition known as sarcoidosis, which is a multi system disease that turns your bodies cells to concrete. This diagnosis lead her to boston where she would be introduced to the interventional pulmonary team, best around. Through out the years and many many more test a few new diagnosis (vocal cord dysfunction), came the biggest most life altering diagnosis yet; tracheobronchomalcia. Big fancy words for ohh shoot!! Basically the cartilage in her trachea and both mainstream bronchi are unstable... when you (a healthy person) takes a deep breath your trachea and bronchioles open nice and wide, for Tara they slam shut... Kind of like suck in in on a deflated balloon looking for air. Tara's bodies normal reaction is to cough a violent cough to open the air ways to allow air to flow. She has suffered through multiple in patients hospitalizations, icu admission and days on the ventilator. But alas there is a cure, after failing one stent trial in 2012 she underwent another May. It was a successful stent trial (still ended in a collapsed lung, but that's par for the course with treating Tara). We finally have set a date for surgery on June 20th of 2014. The surgery is 16 hours long in the er where surgeons will basically reconstruct the entire trachea and bronchi with wire to accomplish firm stabilization. This is a very major yet necessary surgery in which they will break all of the ribs and make an 18" incision. The surgery will end in months of rehab but is Taras only option for survival. Tara has worked her entire life as a single mom and as a contractor, meaning she gets no benefits,no sick time, vacation, holidy, etc. This surgery requires a 6-9 month recovery and with no income could find us homeless. We are asking for anything you can do to help with living expenses. As Tara's foster child I can't express enough how much love and support Tara has shown me without ever expecting in return.
