Hi, my name is Alesha! I am currently serving as an AmeriCorps member working as a mentor and tutor to a group of 5th graders. My students drive me each day to continue to develop as a leader and role-model. At the end of my sophomore year of college I decided that my current university was not meeting my personal or professional needs, so I decided to take time off to explore other options. In the spring, I return to school part-time in order to complete a degree in Biology and secondary education.
I was recently accepted into a 2-week summer program that will allow me to explore myself as a leader and further develop myself as an educator. The Leadership exCHANGE Women and Leadership Program in Prague focuses on women as innovators. I have the opportunity to collaborate with women from around the world on creating action steps for the social justice issues that I am passionate about. Currently, I would not be able to afford the $2450 program cost and $1400 airfare to Prague on my own, as I only receive a living stipend for my AmeriCorps service. Please consider contributing to my journey. Any amount will go a long way, and will be truly appreciated
