Christina's Funeral Fund

Donation protected
My sister Christina Marie Rodriguez died unexpectedly on December 23rd. Growing up my sister and I shared a room together. Even though we fought like sisters do, when I moved to a different room, she would come and ask me to sleep in her bed. She was a kind and caring person even though she could also be mean to her little sister. My sister Denise and Christina were thick as thieves and as young children would get into all sorts of trouble together. Whether it was taking the rent money to buy the kids in the neighborhood goodies from the corner convienience store, or playing with matches in a closet nearly lighting the house on fire- they always found an ally in each other. As the youngest, my sisters were always protective over me. Any time I was in trouble, they would make excuses for me, and if someone hurt me they would strike back with vengeance. As adults, we made sure family remained important and those who are left behind will continue that trend.

People that have called to send their condolences have been telling me stories of a carefree friend who was down for anything and was loyal to whoever she kept secrets from. My sister was well liked throughout her entire life and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her mother, two sisters, her four children, and many others friends and family members. Her children talk about how their mom always wanted what was best for them, and always encouraged them to do their best and stay focused. Her nieces talk about how their Aunt was always kind and giving. She would dye their hair or bring them cookies. My sister was the type of person that even though she did not have much, she would gladly share all she had with those around her.

My sister did not leave behind any resources to take care of her funeral arrangements and our family could really use some help putting her to rest. We are comforted by the love that surrounds us during this tough time and know that she is resting in paradise with our Heavenly Father. We ask of our friends, family, and community that whatever contribution you can make, be made to help ease our stress and worry during this time.  Although my sister only lived 36 short years, we know she shared her heart with many, so please let us know how you knew her, and if possible share a story that may comfort my family as we try to mourn the loss of our loved one.
