Memorial Fund for Chris Parker

Donation protected

Many of us know Lauren Parker from a local moms’ group. She is loved for her wisdom, common sense, positive energy, and encouragement. We have heard her victories over adversity, and admired her grit and grace. These are all qualities we know to be instilled in Lauren by her beloved mother, Christine, who died unexpectedly in her home on Friday.

From Lauren's Facebook page:

"Yesterday was by far the hardest and most heart-wrenching day of my life. My mum died early yesterday morning in her home. It was completely unexpected and I am utterly lost right now. My mum was my confidant, my friend, and my biggest cheerleader in life. This morning I have been finishing her obituary and trying to figure out things I didn't think I'd have to think about for years from now. There is a deep, deep void in my heart. My family is hurting. My sisters are hurting. My kids are hurting. Right now all I can do is move forward, but all I WANT to do is call my mum and talk about how much my heart aches. Rest in peace, mum. I love you more than any words can say."

Up until Chris' untimely passing, she was in good health. As such, she did not set aside funds for funeral arrangements. Her children are attempting to facilitate a funeral on very short notice and with their own limited funds. The family is facing many other challenges in the wake of Chris' death including their father's stage 4 renal failure. This has turned a very difficult task into a seemingly insurmountable one.

We, Lauren's friends, have created this fund to help lay Chris to rest. Your money will go directly to Lauren and will be used to cover the funeral costs. Anything above those costs will be used to ensure Lauren's father will have a plot next to his beloved wife. The family is very hopeful to purchase both plots together.

From Chris' obituary:

"She was the epitome of strength, love, and hard work. She was beloved by all who met her, was a most loyal friend, a natural humorist, and the most wonderful and caring mother, grandmother, and partner. She always put others before herself and would send random messages of 'I'm so proud of you!' right when you needed it the most."

This quote has long been Lauren's tagline and her mother always commented on it:

"Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing."
