Merlyn Rahn Recovery Funds

On May 25th, Merlyn Rahn was injured in a motorcycle accident and airlifted to Avera McKenna Hospital.
He suffered a flail chest injury level 6 (which means that out of the 7 ribs that were broken, 6 of those ribs had multiple fractures) and suffered 2nd & 3rd degree burns (from sliding on the asphalt). His left lung and spleen were also damaged, but have since healed. One of the burns (on his foot) became infected and extensive infectious tissue had to be removed so a skin graft was necessary.
Merlyn was the main income provider for the family and was a self-employed semi-truck owner/operator. Due to the extent of his injuries, he needs more time to heal and is unable to go back to work for a few months. Merlyn has been able to hire someone to drive his truck, but, because of the expenses involved (hiring an employee and workman’s comp.) their income has been greatly reduced.
The money raised will be used to support the family while Merlyn recovers. It is their hope that Merlyn will be able to find a job closer to home and less physically demanding.
