SHIELDING THE PHYSICIANS-IN-TRAINING OF AMERICA

As COVID-19 continues to ravage the world, America’s physicians in training, are on the frontlines fighting this viral enemy. These resident physicians, who are often over-worked and underpaid (earning less than minimum wage), are many times responding to this call to action woefully lacking adequate personal protective equipment. This leaves them vulnerable to infection.
 
Resident physicians are not always able to freely advocate for themselves due to the fear of retaliation from various sources.  There are already documented reports of resident physicians who have succumbed to COVID-19. In one training program, an estimated 50% of residents are reported to have been infected with the novel virus. Because there is not widespread coverage in the news outlets, we want to bring awareness to it and help protect our resident physicians.

The Physician Collective, is a national grassroots organization promoting safety and advocacy for physicians. All funds collected will be used to purchase and ship face shields and masks to residency programs in areas of most need. Your generous contribution is not only a relief to the resident physicians sacrificing their lives to protect us all, but also an investment in the future of America’s healthcare system.
