Paytons summer bike

**Edited** I simply did not know we would have all of the great support. Payton is excited to know she will be able to ride a bike this summer and has picked out some accessories to add on such as a seat designed to hold her better, a helmet, pads, and other things to make it a safer ride. I can’t tell you how much all of this means to our family, let alone Payton.



Payton is a 9-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease April 2013. While she was in the hospital being treated everything was going great. We were in the hospital for about a week when things took a turn for the worst, Payton became unresponsive. After what seemed like days, 18 hours later, the doctors found a blood clot in her brain stem that caused her to have a stroke, Payton was in a rehab all summer. We came home and continue therapy, which has shown amazing results. Her speech is getting better the use of her right side has made wonderful progress. She wants to walk, run, and do all the fun things kids do. We had a fitting for a 3-wheel bike and it was heart warming, she had the biggest smile on her face, and she did not want to get off it. This will be so good in so many ways for her, the pedaling and just the motivation for her to be reminded that she is a kid and that she can do things that other kids can do, she deserves this so much and I wish I could give it to her.

We have her in a program which will help with funding for a bike for her. Because it is funded, we do not know how long, or if, it will take Payton to get a bike. I was hoping to speed up the process a little. Thank you for taking the time to read about our story and any help is greatly appreciated.
