Chief Ed Wrixon's Cold Water Challenge

With the upcoming Memorial Day quickly approaching, Chief Edward Wrixon has offered up a challenge to his Cresskill Police Officer's.  Chief Wrixon, a United States Air Force Veteran himself, is a strong supporter of all Veterans.  Whether they have made the ultimate sacrifice, been wounded in battle, served overseas and returned home safely or simply freshly enlisted in the Armed Services, they all hold a special place in his heart.

Chief Wrixon has long supported in particular one organziation, The Wounded Warrior Project.  Besides physically partaking in charity events for the WWP, he also regulary makes monetary donations to the organization.  Including just last weekend, after being "Cold Water Challenged" by one of his officer's, not only did he take the pludge but he forked over the $100 as well.

This brought Chief Wrixon to issue a challenge, knowing full well that his Officer's would not back down, he stated, "If I can get 400 bucks to my favorite charity, on Memorial Day I am jumping into the coldest water you can find."  Now, we all know water around here is not truly "cold" especially this late in May.  So we have placed a little twist on this plunge.  Luckily a Cresskill Police Officer owns a pickup truck and has offered it for us to use.  So come Memorial Day, immediately following the commencement of the parade, Chief Wrixon will be taking a plunge in the bed of a pickup truck, filled with water and lots of ice!!!  He will also remain in that pickup truck with only his head exposed for 30 complete seconds.  For every second under 30 that he can not remain submersed, he will contribute an additional $100 to the WWP.

Any amount you can give counts, nothing is too small or big!  If you can't donate to this great cause at the very least please pass it on and spread the word!

Thank you and remember to thank a Veteran!
