Support Fatima's Family in Their Time of Loss
Donation protected
Hi my name is Maia and today after being on life support for 5 days, my big sister Fatima passed away. She had a seizure disorder and had her final one Wednesday morning April 16th. Although she died that morning, EMS resuscitated her, but unfortunately she was without oxygen for far too long and was left brain dead. My sister Fatima lived in Hawaii with her fiancé, Garland. Fati was the most sweet, creative, funny, lively, most beautiful girl. She was absolutely lovely. She deserved the world. She deserved all of her family to be there with her in her final moments. And we were. Me, and my other 3 sisters, and two of our partners, and my mom, we all flew out to Hawaii last minute to give Fati a final goodbye. Fati was able to donate both of her kidneys and heart valves and has already saved at least 2 lives. She would have loved that she saved lives on her way out. She was so caring and generous, donating her organs aligns perfectly with who she was. It has been the most excruciating week. We’ve already lost 2 brothers in the past 11 years, and now, to have to bury our sweet sister, it’s just far too much pain that my family is experiencing losing Fati. It has also been incredibly expensive getting all of us here: the cost of travel with it being a destination location made it even more expensive; paying for hotel rooms; food; taking time off of work has really put my family in a hard financial spot. Additionally, we are trying to transport my sister’s body from Hawaii to bury her in Arizona next to my brother, Ibee. Please donate as much as you’re able to give in order to help relieve some pressure from my family during this very sad time. Thank you for reading.
