Ricky's Story
We are writing this request to everyone we know and for those who feel compelled to help us.
We are in dire need of monetary donations for Ricky Gutierrez. He is a devoted and caring father of six month old Gabriella and a loving husband to Jessica.
Ricky has been a happy and healthy man until recently. Throughout his entire life he has never had any serious health problems. That is why we are in complete shock and never would have expected or thought that he would need a liver transplant at the age of 34. This news is dreadful and heartbreaking.
In May of this year, Ricky went from a happy healthy, upbeat, hard working, and vigorous person, as many of you know...to a gravely ill man. His, and all of our lives, changed in a matter of days and weeks.
Ricky's symptoms began with fatigue. However, in such a short period of time, the symptoms increased and included nausea, vomiting and jaundice. A trip to the doctor revealed slightly elevated liver enzymes. Within days, his symptoms escalated and it was clear that something was very wrong. He was immediately admitted to the hospital in Las Vegas. After numerous tests, he was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center in California to be treated by a team of doctors in hopes of saving his liver.
Unfortunately, upon further examination and testing, he was diagnosed with acute liver failure, and it has been determined a liver transplant is the only option to save his life!
In an effort to help Ricky's family in this most difficult time we are asking for any financial help. The hospital bills are adding up and total tens of thousands of dollars. Any and everything is greatly appreciated! Please know that we appreciate you and your assistance in helping this very grateful family in need.
Ricky's recovery will be both long and arduous, and will require around the clock care for several months out of state. With the support of our family and friends - both financially and emotionally - we know that we can get through this.
