Travel costs for our trip home.

Hi, I'm Rachel. You may know me from my writing at Journey Mama, or know my husband, Chinua, from his incredible music. Maybe we've met traveling and you know our kids, or maybe you know us personally. However you know us, we're thankful for your friendship, and now we need your help.
It's been four long years since we were last able to visit. This August and September we need to visit so our children can spend time with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. For six years we've been living in India and Thailand as volunteers, establishing Christ-centered places of meditation, learning, healing, and peace in the international community. In all this time, we've only been home for a visit once, and our hearts having been aching over it for a long time.
We never intended for this amount of time to pass between visits, but we live simply, with little money, and we have not been able to raise the amount we need to fly our family across the world.
This is why, after agonizing over it for a while, we thought we would reach out to our bigger family on the Internet. If many of you who know us, who have read our writings or heard our music, or have been a part of our lives in some small way can come together and share the cost of this trip, it would mean the world to us.
Please share this post because the more people who know about it, the easier it will be to raise the money we need to see our families.
$7494 will nearly cover the cost of our flight from Thailand to North America. We have more budget needs but we're asking for the money for the flight tickets for now.
Since we work for a non-profit organization, donations made for our travel expenses will be tax-deductable and you will receive a receipt for your contribution. If you are in Canada and really need a Canadian tax receipt, email me and I will give you another way to donate.
