Medical Mission Trip To Nigeria

Hi everyone,
My name is Etinosa Sharon Oghogho, and I am a first year PhD student in the Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at Florida International University in Miami. I recently got the opportunity to go for a medical mission trip to my home country, Nigeria, through Living Hope Christian Ministries (LHCM). LHCM is a non-profit organization that organizes a short-term mission trip to serve the people in Nigeria, West Africa every year. Nigeria’s population is over 180 million people, and about two-thirds of these people live on less than one dollar a day, which makes them unable to afford medical care. My love for God has fostered a passion for serving others, and I desire to pursue this passion by serving with LHCM on a mission trip to Nigeria this summer.
The mission and vision of LHCM is as follows:
Mission: To present the Gospel to the lost – To provide medical and optical care to the rural villages in Nigeria.
Vision: To build clinics & pave roads to facilities - To build churches, schools, and widows’ quarters.
I returned from a medical mission trip in Haiti last month, where I was one of the co-facilitators of the women’s health sessions, and also assisted physicians with providing healthcare. Seeing my service to the people of Haiti make such huge difference in various lives really sparked the flame of a long-time desire to ignite positive change in my own country, Nigeria. People who have come to know me, commend my heart for helping others. My desire is to promote God’s kingdom while attending to the healthcare needs of His people in Nigeria. Our LHCM team will provide evangelistic outreach, medical and optical services to three different states in Nigeria while on this trip.
The mission trip is for two weeks this June, and the total cost of the trip is $3700. The entire amount of $3,700 goes to LHCM, and it will cover airfare, transportation, and food/lodging in Nigeria. A deposit is due by the end of this month (April 2018), with the total balance due in May. I would like to ask for your financial support as I embark on this journey. With your seed you become a part of the team and make a difference in thousands of lives.
