The dream - rescue and rehabilitate unwanted and abused animals while giving back to the community through service dogs, horses to assist with children with emotional/physical challenges through hippotherapy, and other farms animals to assist low income children who want to participate in 4-H or FFA but can't afford an animal of their own. All while educating the public on companion animal ownership and providing a safe place for animals to live out their lives or find their forever homes.
The vision - 50 acres to be divided between animals - 10 for horse, 10 for dogs, 10 for cows, donkeys, goats and 10 to 20 for hay fields to keep feeding costs down. A large barn with stables on both sides and a riding arena inside - one for the horses and one for the dogs. The arena becomes year round training and services areas.
A location close to Houston and Dallas both of which have the largest, abandon, abuse and kill problem in the state. Also near Texas A&M for partnering with them on extra credit volunteering, vet services and hopefully more.
We found the perfect site that meets all the requirements and already has most of the necessary buildings on site. It's a bit more than we have available, but cheaper than buying just land and have to clear, fence and build all the needed building.
We are asking for help to purchase this facility and start our dream. This land will allow us to start building finances immediately by providing hippotherapy to those in need, providing service dogs and allowing enough space for the animals to start building trust again.
WE DO NOT HAVE OUR NON-PROFIT CERTIFICATION YET. Papers are being submitted this week. We are not yet eligible for tax deductions or corporate sponsorship programs. But every penny counts, and we hope to raise enough to make this dream a reality as soon as possible.
We have, through our own private funds, over 2/3 the cost of this site. We are asking for trust, and a belief in our dream and empathy for the animals we save, but also for the people those animals will help going forward.
