Rescue Cat Needs Help!

Donation protected

Hi everyone! This is my first Go Fund Me and the only time I’ve ever felt inclined to make one. But in my opinion, it’s for the best cause: helping an animal.

My partner recently moved into a new apartment complex. An orange tabby began showing up, so we started leaving food out for him. I’ve personally rescued a couple stray cats myself, but none that were this sweet so quickly. And boy does he have a mouth on him! He quickly fell into the habit of meowing whenever it was time for dinner, and yelling at us if we weren’t petting him. My partner, who has never been a cat person, fell in love immediately. We named him Ven. Ven was initially very underweight, to the point where it made me nervous putting him in a carrier to take him to the vet, since he felt so fragile. He has been de-wormed and given flea medication which seems to have helped a bit. Unfortunately, when it was time for his vaccinations/neuter visit, the vet found a heart murmur accompanied by a very high temperature. Due to this, we were not able to have his vaccines administered, and the vet described the complications of having him neutered. We took him back into the vet for a follow-up visit for his heart, and learned that the sweet 2-year-old Ven most likely has heart disease. This greatly crushed our spirits, especially after learning how young he is. The vet said before anything else can be done to help Ven, we must get an ultrasound done for $430, along with other tests that will equate to a little over $600. So far, we have already spent $300, and we have not been able to help him yet.

I know this is coming at a terrible time economically for everyone, but if you have any money to spare, we just want to save this sweet angel, and give him as long and as healthy of a life as he can have. Even if his diagnosis isn’t good, he will be in loving and caring hands for however long he has left. But please, let us find a way to extend this lifespan of his. Or, at least try. We want to see this baby reach the ripe old age of 20!

If you would like any more photos or videos of Ven, feel free to reach out to me anytime! He’s such a character, and truly the sweetest baby.

Any extra we make over our goal will be donatedto One of a Kind Pet Rescue on 1929 West Market St., Akron Ohio. They have a crew of wonderful people who truly love and care for the rescuesthey take in, and we would love nothing more than to help out those kitties (and puppies), too!

Thank you so much for your time. (Click “read more” for some more pics below!)
