Recognizing the healing power of companion animals, the mission of Heart2Heart Pet Lifeline is to keep pets out of shelters and rescues and help owners keep them in loving homes. To that end, we provide financial assistance for urgent veterinary care to low income pet families in La Crosse County. Without this help, pets may end up surrendered to a shelter, prematurely euthanized, or suffering from lack of care. No owner should have to make this choice. We assist homeless pet owners with vaccination or veterinary needs in order to enter shelters or find housing. A new Heart2Heart pilot project offers vouchers to income eligible La Crosse pet owners for spay/neuter services at Alter-Ations CatSnip Clinic in Viroqua.
Heart2Heart is an entirely voluntary nonprofit organization in La Crosse, WI. We work with Coulee Region Humane Society and other pet rescue organizations, as well as local veterinarians, to identify clients and award grants up to $400 for services needed to keep pets healthy and in loving homes. Our board members have started out this campaign with matching funds up to $3500. Reaching our goal of $5000 will enable us to continue awarding lifeline grants. We will also be able to seek larger grants to sustain ongoing funds to accomplish our mission.
