Dear Friends and Family,
After the death of my father and mother at the ages of four and ten respectively, statistically the odds were against my educational and professional success. I am proud to say that despite this extreme challenge and the repercussions that came after, I am now a 23-year-old recent college graduate from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Fashion Merchandising.
I am the second youngest in my family of thirteen children, and I am the first ever in my family to have traveled abroad for studies. I am now seeking to be the first to intern abroad, to help me gain the foundational experience and international skills needed for my desired professional career. My very first study trip abroad to Costa Rica in 2010 was so fascinating and endearing that it sparked what I hope is a never-ending love for traveling. I now know and understand in my heart that there are three things that intrigue me the most: travel, fashion, and business culture.
With that said, I have been preparing for the unique opportunity to intern abroad in Rome, Italy, since February of this year. After much research, prayer and thought, I have been accepted to a program administered by World Internship and have decided to move forward with the program to intern for 8-weeks. The internship will commence October 1, 2014, and will end November 29, 2014. I am asking for your help to make this extremely valuable opportunity a reality as I pursue my career path.
The cost of the program is $5000. The Italy program prices include the following:
Internship placement and supervision,
Airport pick-up,
On-site orientation,
Housing-shared apartments with other interns,
Intensive Italian language instruction (three weeks),
Cultural and social activities,
Medical and accident insurance,
24/7 emergency support ,
Support services from start to finish,
Re-entry career webinars and career services.
The Lord says in Isaiah 65:1," I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help. I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me. I said 'Here I am, here I am!' to a nation that did not call on my name."
In the scripture, no one asked for help when the Lord was so willing. I am sure many of you are more than willing to help me, so I am asking for your help today to sponsor me for this amazing opportunity. Whatever amount that God puts on your heart to give is the amount for which I am grateful.
