HELP TAPATIO GET TO COLOMBIA

Ballet Folklorico Tapatio is a 501(c)(3)non profit organization based in South Tucson. The group has over 100 members across 6 different dance levels. Our mission is to provide a healthy and educational environment in which children and young adults are given the opportunity to learn about Mexican culture and history through traditional regional dances. Ballet Folklórico Tapatío provides an avenue in which students can gain a sense of pride, self confidence, and self-esteem, while encouraging them to work within the community for positive changes.

This year Ballet Folklorico Tapatio's Grupo Oficial has been invited to attend the IV Annual Festival Internacional de Danzas Folkloricas “Colombia Un Pais Sin Fronteras Culturales”, in Simijaca Cundiamarca, Colombia from August 3rd to the 15th, 2017.

This is a great opportunity for us as we will be the only group representing Mexican Folk regions. We are honored to be serving as ambassadors to this International Festival.

We are currently seeking funds to help our dancers make this trip possible. We must secure funds for airline fare for each dancer which is approximately $800.00 each. We are taking 18 dancers total to this festival, and our goal is $5,000.00 to help us offset costs. We are working very hard by doing car washes, candy sales, and other fundraisers to help us get to Colombia.
