Help SpeedBump get a second chance!

On Monday, May 19, our ambulance was flagged down by a passerby after they witnessed a car hit a dog and then drive off.  The dog was dragging its back legs, crying in pain and hiding under a car.

Unfortunately, we got dispatched to a call before we could help the dog further, so we called an off-duty Paramedic, who drove down.  The medic was able to get the dog out from under the car and rush her to the vet.

The vet found that the dog had a shattered pelvis, with various fractures in both legs, and was slowly going into shock.  The vet gave the option of emergency surgery - or the more likely decision of euthanasia since the dog did not belong to the medic.

The medic ended up choosing the first option - and paying for the dog's surgery out of pocket.  The vet thinks that the dog has suffered neglect and abuse over the years, due to her matted fur and submissive nature, but said she is one of the sweetest dogs she has ever encountered.

The purpose of this page is to raise money to help pay for the medical bills associated with SpeedBump's surgery, and raise awareness to find a potential foster/forever home for this sweet girl.  She is approx. 2 years old and is now up to date on shots, as well as spayed.

Although this event is extremely sad and unfortunate for this dog - we hope to make the most of it by giving her life a turn around for the better.

Any donations, big or small, are appreciated, and please take the time to share this page on your social media outlet so we can try to find a foster or forever home for her!  Thank you so much!!
