Bobbie Jo's cancer journey

In the fall of 2017, my mom had gone in for a routine hysterectomy to address some health issues she had been navigating. Unfortunately, when the surgeons had her on the table, they came to discover a substantial cantaloupe sized tumor had begun to form. Things took a quick turn as the dedicated team of doctors worked for several more hours in an attempt to remove the mass from her body.

It was during the course of surgery, that they also discovered cancer forming in her uterus, and that it was beginning to spread. It was then that they diagnosed her with a very rare form of stage 4 uterine cancer.

The treatment plan the doctor recommended involved her undergoing six rounds of Chemotherapy treatments. Each round is comprised of a three week loop. Week one, and week two she travels for her chemo treatment. During week three her body is allowed to rest, before she begins the cycle again.

These treatments understandably have taken a toll both physically as well as financially on our family, as we press into the fight ahead.

The words of support, prayers, and care for my mom and our family during the last few months have been such an important part of her fight, but the costs are becoming very extensive due to the aggressive nature of her cancer. Many of you have been asking how you might help, and so I have been encouraged to set up this page.
