Medical bills and household expenses

Have you ever come across a person who by their very nature is kind, good hearted, and forever giving to others, so much so that they ignore their own needs? Our friend Laura is one of these individuals. A life-long volunteer and certified non-profit advisor she has helped establish, run and expand non-profit organizations. Her efforts have helped more children, families, veterans, and others than we can count. She has also been the caretaker for family members including her sister who passed away from breast cancer and her mother, who died a year and a half ago.
Recently, Laura was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. She is at the beginning of what will likely be an extremely long journey and she needs our help. Now Laura would never ask for help, she has had a lifetime learning how to be self-sufficient, but we, her friends, know that she is not equipped financially to handle all the medical and healthcare bills that are coming her way. Although Laura has a job, a house and medical insurance, her bills from her surgery, treatment and care will be astronomical. In addition, her home needs a lot of TLC including a collapsed sewage pipe which needs immediate attention.
As friends of Laura, we would love to be able to cover all her expenses, but are unable to due to our own family obligations. We are asking for your help. If you live in the Los Angeles area, you or your family members may have benefitted from Laura’s good deeds or may know others who have.
