European Audition Tour

Beginning a career as an opera singer can be very challenging, even after decades of preparation. Beginning a career as an opera singer with a voice of Wagnerian proportions in America is virtually impossible. No one, after all, is going to cast you as Barbarina when your voice is more suited to Brünnhilde. Even the smaller Wagner roles, such as Freia or Gerhilde are only given to those who already have extensive experience. For this reason, Europe is the place to be for the aspiring large-voiced opera singer.
In just a few short weeks, I will be leaving to go on an audition tour in Europe. I will be singing for agents and casting directors in Paris and Belgium, and if funds are suffient, Germany as well. The audition in Antwerp, Belgium is massive! There will be casting directors present from such presitigious European houses as the Hamburg Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Bolshoi Opera Moscow, Deutche Oper Berlin, Vlaamse Opera Antwerp, English National Opera and many more. American houses represented include the Metropolitan Opera, Dallas Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Los Angeles Opera, and Seattle Opera. It really is a fantastic opportunity to make my existence known to a great many people, and to hopefully get some work lined up. Of course, I can't do this alone. Such an audition tour is prohibitively expensive to put together, which is why I am asking for your help.
As of today, I need to raise $3500 to pull this off. Here is what this amount will cover:
1) Round trip plane ticket to Europe: currently $1500 (though the price is rising every day)
2) Audition registration fee (for Belgium audition): $750 (approximate, after converting from Euros)
3) Lodging: $735, or $35 per night for 3 weeks (for a bed in a hostel or someone's home)
4) Eurail pass: $500.
This doesn't include food, but I should be able to save up enough in the next few weeks to take care of that myself. Other expenses will include audition fees for Paris and Germany and pianist fees.
I will, of course, be putting every penny I can save between now and the time I fly out towards this audition tour, and will adjust the goal amount accordingly.
I am also more than happy to accept donations of miles, if you would prefer to help out that way. If so, please private message me. I will change the goal amount appropriately if such a contribution is made.
