#strongandcourageous Matt Goodwin was diagnosed with throat cancer in May of 2014 at the age of 38. He has never used tobacco of any kind and was blind-sided with this news after his lymph node on his neck suddenly became swollen. He was initially treated for strep throat but after a few weeks went back to his doctor when the lymph node did not decrease in size. After further testing, tumors on his tonsil and lymph node were discovered. The tumors are inoperable so he will soon begin an aggressive course of radiation and chemotherapy. Matt and his amazing wife, Angie, have been married for almost 6 years and have a beautiful 2 year old daughter, Lily. Matt also has an incredible 14 year old son, Logan. As a family, they are determined to battle his cancer with strength and courage like the verse describes in Joshua 1:9; "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid.".
