Rally for Richard

Hello everyone,
I'm sure everyone is beginning to find out or hear about what has happened. My father Richard was in a bad accident, he was on his motorcycle and left the roadway throwing him pretty far I’m assuming considering he doesn’t have much road rash. He is currently in the ICU at University Hospital in San Antonio where they are taking great care of him. He has broke his back in two spots and broke his neck. He has a small amount of bleeding on the brain. His lungs collapsed due to the internal bleeding so they had to put two drain tubes to get all that blood off the lungs so they could work properly. The did a back surgery and put rods in to straighten out the kink that was in his spine. They have had to give him blood transfusions since he lost a quite a bit of blood from his injuries. As of right now there is no significant head injuries that they can detect. He has some broke/fractured ribs as well. Me being his daughter I have asked 5 different surgeons and unfortunately I have got the same answer. He has very slim 1% chance that he will ever walk again but the good Lord is the ultimate healer and doctor so we have to keep the faith. We have a long road ahead of us. We will keep everyone updated as much as possible so please don’t be offended if you don’t receive text replies from the family. We are all overwhelmed. I’ll update this page as often as I possibly can. In the meantime pray pray pray! People keep asking what they can do to help. So we all have decided to put our pride aside and start this page to start raising money for him cause unfortunately living costs don’t stop, Medical bills will keep piling up especially with no insurance and the family has to miss work to care for him so if you can only imagine all the costs that are going to be involved. Fundraiser events are being discussed as well. He’s not awake at the moment due to having to be on the ventilator so visitors are limited to two at a time for right now if anything changes we will let y’all know. If everyone could just keep my father Richard and our family in their thoughts and prayers we could really use some right now.
