We are the Coleman Family and we are looking to help our family member Kimberly.   Kim is 47 years old and was diagnosed with rectal cancer in July, 2015. She has completed 6 weeks of chemo and endured 33 radiation treatments. Scheduled for surgery on November 20th , Kim had to have emergency surgery on November 11th where the surgeons had to repair a bowel obstruction, tangled colon, bowel perforation which almost took her life. At this time they removed a fist sized tumor from her colon. After removal of the tumor doctors are unwilling to declare her cancer free until she has completed 2 years of cancer scans because of the bowel perforation. Due to the emergency surgery she has also been left with a colostomy for the next 2 years minimum and a possibly of it being permanent. We are so thankful that she is alive. Kim is a wife of 16 years to a supportive loving husband Nicholas and has six children ranging in ages 7 – 30 years. Since her illness Nicholas is now the only provider, solely caring for their 3 younger children ages 7 - 12, Kim, and everything related to the household. Kim still has 6 -8 weeks of recovery from surgery and then she must face chemotherapy for 6 more months. As you can guess this journey has taken a financial toll on this beautiful family as she is unable to work. We want Kim to not have to worry about finances while she is battling cancer and we are asking for donations to help the family.
