Flood Relief for Bosnia and Serbia

My name is Nina Granic. I was born and raised in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. My friend Adela P Ramic (also from Zenica, Bosnia) and I are organizing this fundraiser to help the victims of floods that hit Bosnia and Serbia last month.
To say that the situation on the ground is bad would be a major understatement. Thousands of people have lost everything. Many have been housed with their families, but a lot of them were taken to makeshift shelters until authorities and nonprofit organizations are able to find them more permanent housing. These people are in need of the very basics, such as food, water,cleaning supplies, personal protection items (gloves, face maskes, etc) baby items, household goods. Since the flood waters receided many people are going back home and trying to save their belongins. They are cleaning their homes (those that have homes left) and trying to get their lives back on track. Authorities are failing them, yet again and they are left to deal with the damege all on their own.
Adela is going to Bosnia on June 30th and will personally purchase items these families are in need of. She has made contact with volunteers who are helping people in their clean up efforts and is hoping to help them by providing some of the things they need, such as disposable gloves, face masks and rubber boots.
On May 24th we had a donations drive where we collected 140 boxes of goods, such as diapers, baby wipes, food, gloves, face maskes, cleaning supplies, etc that were already sent to Bosnia through the St Louis Bosnian Chamber of Commerce. All those goods are going to an organization called Pomozi.ba. They have their own volunteers on the ground distributing donations sent to them from all over the world.
