Hello all!
Last year, I was accepted to go on a once in a lifetime service trip to Madagascar with other students from my school. Unfortunately, due to the Ebola scare, the trip was cancelled and the district is still weary about sending students to Madagascar this soon. However, most people from the trip were accepted to go on an Overland Africa safari this coming January! We will be visiting southern Africa countries such as Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. We will be working with different African San tribes, the Cheetah Conservation Fund, and more! The trip will be mainly adventure-focused. We will be in an overland vehicle and will be camping for three weeks. Some main highlights of the trip are:
-Seeing Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World
-Dugout canoeing in the Okavango Delta, where several species congregate
-Working with baby cheetahs and learning about their conservation
-Visiting urban areas and comparing culture with the native tribes
-Interacting and viewing the wildlife that southern africa has to offer such as Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Rhinos, Zebra, Antelope, Cheetahs, and various bird species.
This is a truly unique trip and it has been approved by the school board and risk manager, so unless something severe happens, the trip is a go!
Any little bit helps, and I will be working hard over the summer to make payments!
Payments are due monthly and go as follows:
Due May 15th: $500
Due June 15th: $800
Due July 15th: $800
Due August 15th: $800
Due September 15th: $800
Due October 15th: $800
My goal is $4,500, but Gofundme takes out a portion of the proceeds, which is why my goal is listed as $5,000
