Help Us Save Starving Momma To Be

Donation protected
Last night Black Dogs & Company Rescue received an urgent plea to help a very pregnant and underweight female Lab Mix who was found as a stray in North Carolina.  She was eating kibble out of the dirt that someone had thrown to her.  How could we say no?  We just couldn't imagine this sweet girl having her puppies on the side of the road.  Plans are being made to transport her here to Maryland as soon as possible and a foster home has been lined up where she can safely have her puppies.  We have named her Hope.  As soon as she arrives she will be taken to the vet, she will likely arrive over the weekend which will mean we will incur an Emergency Vet bill.  She will be tested for heartworms, bathed and will have a sonogram.  There are many unknown costs in taking on a pregnant underweight momma, we know she will need vetting, her pups will need vetting and once her puppies are all ready for their forever homes she will also be spayed.  Hopefully Hope is so underweight simply from being abandoned, if it is secondary to a health issue we will need to address that too.  If Hope is HW+ we will need to address that too.  Right now we are estimating just the basics at $2,500, however this amount could rise.  Please help us raise the funds needed to return Hope and her unborn puppies to full health!  Thank you!

You can see just how underweight Hope is as she sifts through the dirt to eat the kibble that was left for her.
