Help Danielle Go to San Francisco!

Donation protected

Hey Everyone,
So last night something extremely special occurred. I was invited to San Francisco to take a workshop with acting legend and phenomenon Anna Deavere Smith. I was able to meet Ms. Smith and her team yesterday afternoon for an interview and they accepted me into the program that night.

The workshop is called Personal narratives, global identities. The workshop will be in San Francisco from June 9-17. For all of the followers of The Body Image Project” who have been asking to hear my story in the show- this is why I NEED TO TAKE THIS COURSE! It will be a full week of exploring the stories of self.

The faculty that will be teaching consists of the best in the industry: Amy Stoller; Micheal Leon Thomas; Lori Schiff and so many more. The workshop will end with a performance created by the ensemble. This will be a phenomenal week of material that I will keep with me for the rest of my life.

Everything that I learn will be put into work for the next phase of The Body Image Project this summer. I have 10 DAYS, starting today, to give them the entire deposit.

There are two ways to give:
1. bodyimageprojectplay.com by clicking the DONATE tab
2. Here on the GoFundMe’s website.

The goal for the Go Fund Me page is to raise enough for the workshop, plane ticket, accommodations.
Budget:

Workshop Fee: 2,500
Plane ticket: 750
Accommodations: 1000

Anna Deavere Smith is one of the legendary pioneers of documentary theatre. I have looked up to her career since I was 18 years old. I have been practicing her methods of theatre for eight years. This is a rare opportunity and chance to learn firsthand from the Master of this Technique. President Barack Obama recently awarded Ms. Smith the National Medal of Arts and Humanities. She is a Gish Prize Recipient. As an actress, Smith has appeared on TV in "Nurse Jackie" and "The West Wing" and in films including "The American President," ''The Human Stain," ''Life Support" and "Rachel Getting Married." Among her other honors are a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant," two Tony Award nominations, an Obie and a Drama Desk Award. Her writings include the book "Talk to Me: Listening Between the Lines and Letters to a Young Artist."

Thank you all for your consideration and let’s make this dream happen. Much love to everyone! –Danielle
