Save Penny

Penny was playing ball and helping us unpack boxes one night. And, incredibly ill the next morning. After three days in the hospital, numerous tests, and a neurologist consult, a brain tumor was found.
Penny brings joy and smiles to anyone she meets. She’s mischeviois and playful and always there for everyone else. She’s moved many times in her short eight years including Palm Desert, Mississippi, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco,
Ukiah and Cloverdale. She’s always had little places to live and just last month finally got a rental house with a big grass backyard to play in. Penny has too much love and personality to share with the world to die from a stupid brain tumor. We maxed out the credit cards trying to find out what was wrong. Next month, I’m laid off from my job because the contract wasn’t renewed. Penny won’t hear back for two weeks whether or not she’s accepted to an experimental treatment program at UCDavis. By then, it will be too late. The tumor on her brain is enlarging her esophagus, making her drool and she has lost the spark that was always there from pain. She has to be held and hand fed. And, carried outside. 

Penny is my best friend. Anything you can do to keep her magic in this world is appreciated.
