Mandy's Legacy

If you would have met Mandy Bailey, you would've been a lucky person. She wore her kindness, empathy, and openheartedness on her sleeve. She was an extremely talented dancer, actress, and model. Most of all, she had one hell of a passion for music. Most of us who were touched by Mandy met her through concerts. She somehow managed to get out of small-town Canada and go to hundreds of concerts all across America. It was something that she said kept her alive as long as she was.
Unfortunately, on the night of February 29, 2016, Mandy passed away after a long and arduous battle with mental illness. She fought one hell of a fight, and all of Mandy's friends are so proud of her perseverance. Mentall illness is real, heartbreaking, and devastating. We knew that if a tragedy like this could happen to someone as happy, friendly, and special as Mandy, then it can happen to anyone.
We created this GoFundMe to raise money for the Canadian Mental Health Association. Her parents mentioned in her obituary that they would appreciate a memorial contribution in Mandy's name. In total Mandy style, we want to exceed expectations and go above and beyond. We want to raise this money to help other people struggling like Mandy did. We also want to show Mandy's parents just how much she was loved by all of her friends. She made such an impact in our lives, and we know that through a huge donation like this we can keep Mandy's legacy alive to help so many people in her position.
Additionally, we are planning on doing this as a surprise to Mandy's family. Us, a group of Mandy's close friends (Jade, Celeste, Hannah, Madi, and Lizzy), are going to make the drive from Minnesota up to Mandy's home in Ontario so that we can see our sweet friend's resting place, and then give her parents the check. We want them to physically see how much power Mandy still has to change the world.
