Hi there. I don't know if this is the right thing to do or not. But here's our story... We have a precious puppy named daisy. She is 8 months old. And exactly a month younger than our daughter Elli who is 9 months old. We also have a son named Remington that is 2 1/2. Daisy and remi are best friends. She lets remi crawl over her and they play ball and chase each other around the yard. When remi gets too close to the sidewalk, daisy barks and let's is know. If Elli crawls too close to the stairs she growls and lets us know. She is our third child. We have had her since she was a month old. We take her to work with us everyday. And we take her to stores with us and for a walk every morning and every evening. She is a blessing to us. She rides 4 wheeler with us and goes for bike rides. She usually rides shotgun in the vehicles cuz she's the boss. We always ride with the windows down so she can have her hair blowing in the wind. Lol. Yesterday was a very normal day. I own a salon and my husband is out in the field working with fertilizer all day. Daisy and daddy went out to Titan machinery, a farm store yesterday. And as normal daisy was riding shotgun with daddy and the windows were down. Daisy must have seen something she wanted to chase cuz she bailed out of the window of our lifted pickup truck while going 55 mph down the highway. She took a very rough tumble and my husband randy pulled over immediately to get her. He called her name and tried to get her to come. But there was no movement. Only whimpers. He was heartbroken and came up to my salon to tell me what happened. I told him to go home and I'd be there shortly as I was with a client. I went home and saw her laying on her bed in the living room and she just cried. I couldn't stand it and could see that she needed help. We called a ER vet that is almost two hours away and rushed her there. My husband carried her in and they took X-rays. Which are 56$ each. They had to sedate her since she was in so much pain, they took 5 X-rays. We found out her hip shattered and in order to fix it she would need to have surgery ASAP that was quoted to be roughly 1800-2000 dollars. We are a young family with two young kids. So my husband and I instantly knew the answer was that we couldn't afford it and that would mean she would have to be put down. We told the vet that and he decided to nominate her to "4 the luv of dogs" rescue center. He stepped out to call and two minutes later came back in and told us he had 3 votes yes so she could have surgery in the morning. We had to place her up for adoption due to not being able to find her surgery the next day ( today) we carried her to the surgery prep area and stood by her side holding her head up high as she got an iv with mesicine and fluids in it and then we walked her back to her new bed for the night. A cold kennel that they made up with a few cozy blankets. We layed her down and got her situated and then sadly they had to close the gate and we got escorted to the front to pay our bill. We drove back home feeling like we did the right thing. And we are now lost completely without her. We called the vets office to see if we came up with the money if we could have her back. And he said to call back in the morning. This may be a long shot but it's worth a try. This is her donation site. We are asking for $2000 total to cover surgery cost. If it's only a penny that anyone can donate then that is one more penny closer we are to having our family back together. I am so greatful for all of the thoughts and kind prayers. And if you are unable to donate or wish to but financially cannot, we just ask that you could share our story in hopes that the next person can. We are so thankful for every one of you reading this. I cannot express my gratitude for your time. Thank you. And god bless.
Love, Brooke, Randy, Remington, Benelli , and Daisy Pallum.
