Joanne's new start

Joanne's story starts with Zinnia, my wife, seeing her regularly in front of a few stores in our neighborhood. Zinnia developed an attachment to her as she was very pleasant and always smiled.  Although she was homeless, she never asked for money. She spent many of her nights sleeping at the front of a closed store nearby. Zinnia would stop by and bring her food when she had a chance, and recently for Christmas, she wanted to find her a place to stay for a few nights. She initially paid for a week at a nearby motel, but the motel owner was moved by the action and let her stay even longer. I remember Zinnia would stop by during the holidays and bring her extra food. Joanne ended up staying longer, using some money she had saved up. However, recently she was asked to leave, but the motel owner offered her a temporary place if she could find a job. The first obstacle was a hair cut as her hair was very long and unkept.  At first Joanne was very reluctant, but finally she agreed knowing it was the first step towards a new beginning. She now is in the process of getting an identification card from DMV. What we are asking is for financial help so we can set up account for her for food and shelter, but more important we ask for any leads on work for her so she can obtain a steady income. She is now back on the street, and I could see it breaks Zinnia's heart when she passes by and sees her. We are at a loss for providing help as homeless shelters in the area have been a concern regarding her safety. She is articulate and had worked years past as a writer and an office manager. We would be truly greatful for any support whether financial, job, advice, and prayers.  Thank you.  Jayvee
