Nik's Medical Funds for Cancer

Nik Merritt is a 20 year old recently diagnosed with intermediate stage muco dermatoid carcinoma. He had a parotidectomy in April and had the first of thirty radiation treatments on May 15th. He is unable to work at this time. His insurance company is out of state and will only pay 70% of his medical expenses and has denied coverage at all for his surgeon and oncologist. He is responsible for all of those charges at this point. We are doing what we can to cover all other expenses including all the dental bills incurred to prepare for the long term side effects from the radiation. He is worried the bills are going to override his chance to go to college when he is able to return to a normal life. I am asking for help so Nik will concentrate on healing and not stress over the medical costs.The good news is, the radiation worked and he showed no signs of cancer as of 8/21/14 at the surgical site or in his lymph nodes. He will have to have a CT scan every three months for the next two years and every six months for the following three years. We thank you for all of your help.
