<div>I’m undertaking this walk to raise awareness for young people struggling with addiction and to raise funds for Aberdeen In Recovery (AIR) — an incredible organisation run by recovering addicts — and for SSKR (Safe Space Ketamine Recovery), a new peer-to-peer support group for people affected by ketamine addiction.

<div>SSKR has been created to help young people struggling with ketamine addiction find their path to recovery in a safe, supportive, and understanding environment.

<div>My Story

<div>My struggles with ketamine began in 2022. At the time, I didn’t understand the dangers of the drug or how quickly it could destroy my body, especially my bladder.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ketamine leaves the body through urine, meaning it repeatedly comes into contact with the bladder lining. Over time, this can cause inflammation, ulcers, and scarring, which can shrink the bladder and lead to severe pain, frequent urination, and blood in the urine. In many cases, this damage can become permanent.

<div>Many young people are unaware of these risks when they first begin using ketamine. By sharing my story and completing this walk, I hope to raise awareness, support recovery services, and help others realise that recovery is possible.
</div>

<div>Every donation will help support people who are struggling and provide access to the support they need.
</div>

<div>About the Organiser and How Funds Will Be Used
</div>

</div>
<div>I, Ellie Wight, am the organiser of this fundraiser and am responsible for withdrawing and managing the funds raised through this campaign.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a volunteer with Aberdeen In Recovery, I support individuals and communities affected by addiction through groups and recovery support services. Donations made through this fundraiser will be paid into my personal bank account and held securely until they are transferred to Aberdeen In Recovery.
</div>

</div>
<div>The funds raised will not be distributed directly by me to individuals. The fundraising walk will take place from 5 July to 11 July, and once it has been completed, I will transfer the funds in full to Aberdeen In Recovery using the bank details they have provided to me.
</div>

<div>Aberdeen In Recovery is aware of and supports this fundraiser, and the funds raised will be used to support the individuals and communities they work with through their services and programmes, including support for SSKR and people recovering from addiction.
</div>
