Shannon's Story:

In May of 2010, Shannon received the diagnosis that she had stage 3 colon cancer. She was 33 years old, a wife, a mother of three beautiful children, and now a cancer patient with no explanation and no family history explaining why she was suddenly being faced with this. But Shannon is a fighter! She had two surgeries, went through six months of chemotherapy, and by the end of December 2010, she had completed all of her scheduled treatments.
In January of 2011, she heard the words that she was waiting for: NO SIGNS of cancer! She had beat it! Three months passed, and her follow up appointment came back clear – she passed with flying colors – cancer free! Three more months passed, and it was time for another follow-up. It was July 2011, and this time she heard the devastating news that the cancer was back, and that it had progressed to stage 4 cancer.
This May 2014, will mark four years that Shannon has been battling through the biggest fight of her life. We’ve seen her up’s and her down’s, but through it all Shannon has taught us that strength, courage, and a deep determination to win, come from within, and she does it all while fighting with incredible beauty and grace! As her friends and family, we cannot do the one thing that we want most: help make Shannon cancer-free. But we can help in this way...
