Elijah & His Italian Opera Opportunity
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Elijah and I'm 10 y/o. I am in the 4th grade and my favorite hobbies are drawing, singing, reading and playing video games. I've been a member of the Philadelphia Boys Choir for over a year. This opportunity has been an honor. Now, I have the chance to travel to Italy to be in an opera. My family is trying to raise money for my trip. I would really appreciate your help!
Thank you for your time in advance. Our family is very proud of Elijah. He's a sweet and humble kid, a great son and brother,as well as a straight A+ student! My husband and I have worked diligently to save money, since March 2014, when Elijah was chosen (along with 14 other children) to travel with Karen Lauria Saillant ([email redacted]) the Founding Artisitic Director of The International Opera Theater of Philadelphia (www.internationaloperatheater.org) to Italy, in Aug 2014. At this time, we realize, we could use some financial help.
The opera co. is a non profit organization and the families involved are responsible for: airfare, transportation to Citta Della Pieve, housing and food. We accepted this a HUGE commitment, mainly because hisgrandmother is willing and able to chaperone him for the entire month of Aug.
Never in a million years, would we ever imagine that one of our children would have such a beautiful experience placed before them! Elijah will play the part of "Young Lucius" from the Shakespearean play "Titus Andronicus". The opera will focus on the forgotten children in Shakespearean plays. Again, thank you! We appreciate your time and assistance with helping Elijah experience a once in a lifetime opportunity. Please know that no donation is too small!
With much gratitude, Sharron and Andrea
