Our friend Lauren Harrell was diagnosed in January 2014 with breast cancer. We are using this site to allow friends, familty and other supporters to pour love on Lauren both with words of encourgement , as well as donations to help cover her medical expenses and make life more comfortable for her.
Lauren was getting together some last minute items at the store in preparation for her son's arrival when she got that horrible call. The results from her biopsy were back and it was cancer. She was 9 months pregnant with her son. She had a beautiful 14 month old daughter and an amazing and loving husband. Her wonderful life seemed to just shatter into pieces in an instant.
Lauren is doing chemo upfront for 20 weeks, followed by surgery and then possibly radiation. The first 8 weeks of chemo she will be given adriamycin cytoxan "AC" every 2 weeks for four rounds. Then for 12 weeks she will get the chemo drug Taxol "T" every week. After chemo is done an MRI will be done to show the progress of the treatment. Then she will wait about a month to have surgery. Radiation and drugs will probably also follow surgery.
