The Anthony Jackson Memorial Scholarship

Donation protected
My name is Janice L. Jackson I live in St. Louis, Missouri. My son's name was Anthony Jerome Jackson. On Tuesday October17, 2017 my son was murdered 5 days before he could enter the Fire Academy. Anthony was a Paramedic. He was about to enter the Fire Academy to become a Firefighter/Paramedic. During his time as a Paramedic Anthony saved the lives of drug addicted individuals with the drug Narcan. He received 2 Clinical Save Awards, which meant he revived and brought back 2 people who were clinically deceased. I want to start a Memorial Scholarship in Anthony's name so that some young man or young woman can pick where Anthony left off and finish the mission that Anthony was not allowed to complete. I want to start an Annually Awarded Scholarship for minority economically challenged adults aged 21 and up. This scholarship would be for Paramedics, Firefighters and other First Responders. Anthony was a First Responder in every sense of the word. Anthony was a hero. I am very proud of my son. I do not want Anthony's life and death to be in vain. We are devastated by his loss. He is truly missed. Anthony was 36 years old. He was my only son. I would like the Scholarship to be available for the next graduating class of Fire Academy under the leadership of Chief Quinten Randolph. I want someone to take Anthony's place.

Guidelines for the Anthony Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Northeast Firefighters Foundation has established the Anthony Jackson Memorial
Scholarship Fund in honor of Paramedic Anthony Jerome Jackson. Anthony was tragically killed
on October 17, 2017 at the age of 36. Anthony was working for the Northeast Ambulance &
Fire Protection District in St. Louis County, MO at the time of his death. Anthony was slated to
attend the St. Louis County Fire Academy as a member of the Northeast Ambulance & Fire
Protection District.
Anthony was known as a natural helper and a giver from the age of 12 years old, when he saved
the life of a young child who had run out into the street and did not see a car that was coming.
Anthony ran out into the street, grabbed that child and rolled to the sidewalk saving that child’s
life. According to Anthony’s mother Mrs. Janice Jackson, this incident is what planted the seed
in his head that he wanted to be a paramedic.
In honor of Anthony J. Jackson, a memorial scholarship fund was established at the request of
his mother Mrs. Janice Jackson, to “Pay it Forward,” to a future first-responders, as it was her
son’s dream to be a Paramedic/Firefighter.
The Northeast Firefighters Foundation created the Anthony Jackson Memorial Scholarship fund
to provide community oriented, career-minded individuals the opportunity to develop
professionally in order to better help their community civically and socially.
To be eligible for this scholarship, each candidate must:

Technician License.
