948 is a subversive collective operating at the intersection of culture and creativity. In the 75 years since contemporary britan “wElcOMed” a wave of migrants, we’re exploring how the changing british landscape has affected cultural and creative expression today; while considering what has come before and what will come after.

Fusing 948’s creative and cultural ambitions, the Windrush legacies grant which seeks to fund one creative or cultural practitioner who are direct descendants of the Windrush generation. The aim of this is to celebrate the multi-faceted work of our community and allow the creative and cultural legacy of Windrush to continue under a new generation. The recipients of our windrush legacies grant will be awarded by a group of trustees at the end of 2023.
