Tamara Salem is a beautiful young wife and mother of two young children. Earlier this year, at 29 years of age, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Medullary Thyroid cancer. After numerous cycles of chemo and radiation, the cancer has spread to her liver, right thyroid, esophagus, thighbone and hip and beyond. But our “T” is a fighter and has a great deal of strength and courage. Tamara is my friend and I’m better for it, we all are. She is the truest of friends. She is one of the kindest and most beautiful souls I have ever been fortunate enough to know. She gives so much of herself to everyone. It’s just who she is. Her family is her life. Her wish, her hope is just to be here to see her children grow up.
I want to give her something back so she will know she is loved and not alone; so her family will not feel so overwhelmed. And so I created this page in the hopes of raising money to cover not only the mounting medical bills, but the basic necessities as well, such as rent and utilities. Please help me provide this type of support so Tamara and her family can focus on climbing the hill and winning the battle.
I think everyone has probably been touched by cancer in some way. What didn’t we give, what wouldn’t we give, what wouldn’t we do or ask to help our mother, wife, sister, best friend? Tamara is all of these to someone.
To paraphrase Gayle Sayers if I may,……I love Tamara Salem and I’d like all of you to love her too. Tonight, when you hit your knees, please ask God to love her.
