<div>Hi! I’m Katie Piorek, recently this year my mom got diagnosed with uterine and ovarian cancer. They were able to get the uterine cancer out, but still is battling ovarian cancer. Prior to her diagnosis, my father; and her husband passed away from stage 4 glioblastoma in May of 2017. Despite all of the challenges my mother has faced, she always puts everyone before her, and will still make sure other people are happy before herself. She’s gone through 5 chemo rounds already, and the strength she’s shown is unbelievable. This year, I want to show her how much she means to me by giving back. Although I will never be able to give back what she has given me, this holiday season I want to show her how strong she is by giving back to her and always make sure she knows how loved she is. She has some bills to pay, and I never want her to worry about those as she has more important things to focus on— like her health. I never want her to worry while being sick, as she is currently on unpaid medical leave for work, so she isn’t working at the moment.
