Alguns nunca chegaram a nascer sequer.

Melhorará tudo a 80%.

TEXT IN ENGLISH :

_____________________________

Hi, My name is Bruno and I’m from Barcelos (Portugal). My life hasn’t been easy ever since 2019. I’ve been battling multiple ghosts daily and the fight will go on.

My life is stagnant, incredibly limited due to my health, both physical and mental. I don’t feel capable enough to find a job to help me raise the necessary amount of money to properly take care of myself and my health without having various monetary difficulties and having to drag my mother into this, who’s already a father and a mother and takes care of the house by herself. I wish I was capable of more, and I will be.

Besides being my best friend, she’s also had her share of health and personal issues, quite serious ones, and I hope someday I’ll be able to give everything back to her.

The only thing I’ve been feeling capable of doing is working on my vintage and secondhand online clothing store, where luckily I get lots of affection and support, but it’s not enough to raise the necessary amount.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, I’ve been having strong vertigo, feeling like I’m going to pass out, I’m in a constant alert state and I’ve been experiencing horrible physical pain (and other things related to my health) that are limiting my life in a despairing way and it’s super distressing.

I can’t have a normal day and only I know how exhausted I’ve been for fighting everyday and for the abrupt falls I’ve had in life. I feel like my feet can run away from me at any moment, I’ve developed a fear of leaving my house due to my frailties and vertigo. It has been really, really hard. Only those who have felt it know what I’m talking about.

Besides all of this, I write to you with tears in my eyes, very scared and very ashamed because it’s something so mine and so personal, but I need all the help I can get to take care of my health and the situation is becoming more and more urgent and severe. I suffer from a dental disease (dental agenesis) and, according to doctors, it affects only a small percentage of the population. It doesn’t run in my family, but I was born with it, unfortunately. I had baby teeth that fell throughout the years, the normal human process but, in my case, I didn’t have new ones to replace those. I still have 2 baby teeth, which is not supposed to be the case at my age.

It’s an extremely rare and complex case, I have a huge lack of teeth, I have teeth in the wrong places and in places where I wasn’t supposed to have teeth at all. It’s getting harder and harder for me in terms of self-esteem, which has always been very low due to that lack of teeth and other problems, but it’s only been getting worse throughout the years.

Aesthetical issues aside, even though it’s one of the things that makes my mental health worse, it’s also getting harder to eat, which is a basic human need and I’m losing my ability to do it properly. I skip meals a lot and when I don’t I avoid eating hard or stiff foods. I choke a lot when I eat because of poor chewing. I end up only being able to eat on one side, or through the front, using the teeth that you’re only supposed to use to bite food, not to chew it. I’ve worn out my jaw, it cracks a lot because everything’s crooked and out of place.

I panic every time I feel like I didn’t chew correctly and I feel like I’m going to suffocate every time I swallow something that wasn’t properly chewed. I’m entering a phase of total despair. I’ve tried asking for help from TV shows, e-mails, e-mails and more e-mails… I got a call once from a reporter from a well-known channel, but perhaps my story wasn’t sad or worthy enough to be exposed and heard on television… I don’t know. I got so happy when they called asking for more photos, but I deluded myself a lot with that call. I sent information and photos and it’s been over a year and I never got a response, even though I insisted. Once again, everything falls apart and I get sad because what felt so close feels now very distant.

I had a very hard time dealing with all the judgment I’ve been feeling all these years. The looks, the comments, even from people who are close to me, the bullying, the “why don’t you smile in photos?”. It’s so, so hard on me. I’m so insecure I even avoid saying that I laughed or using emojis showing teeth. Sounds silly, but I’m really that sensitive. I know and I’m 101% sure that fixing this will improve my life in an inexplicable way. It will be an 180º turn. I will feel more like myself, more real, more confident to do anything, particularly sing, which is what I most love to do but I’m extremely ashamed of doing it for others and in public, also due to this condition. The videos I have published are always made in a way where this isn’t noticeable, from the side, without facing the camera and without opening my mouth too much, but even so I published quite a few.

The ideal treatment (or so I thought) would have to be removing all the teeth and replacing them with implants to create a beautiful smile, because I have lack of bone, teeth in the wrong places and everything’s a mess in this mouth. After an evaluation that I had today (April 21st, 2022) with a specialist, I found out that’s it’s even more complex than I thought. It’s not just lack of teeth, I will have to remove some of them, I will also need to expand the superior part of my mouth because it’s slightly deformed, my bite is super crooked, and I also have to treat the ones that still be saved.

The doctor who specializes on this thinks it’s better to keep the ones that can be kept, improving them. If I removed all of my teeth and put all of the implants in their place (I asked that question), at my age and me being asthmatic, it would probably only last 15 years or less due to the asthma and dry mouth, they would also end up being loose and eventually fall, and that’s not desirable. So, the ideal solution for someone with my health problems + bad teeth would be what I mentioned above: remove the misplaced teeth, use and improve the teeth that can be saved and put implants only where necessary.

I will improve everything by 80%. The cost is 16000€ (without interest).

The nice lady from the clinic told me that if we can pay everything at once, she might be able to offer me a good discount on that total value, but I also have the option to pay by installment in 60 months (with interest from the 18th month).

I’m in tears because of the drastic increase in the amount, but I believe that together we’re stronger and I’ll do everything I can to reach this value. I’ll work harder and give it double, triple or even more regardless of my exhaustion. I can’t quit. I won’t!

I want to be able to make this happen so bad, there’s still a long way to go and it will be a huge fight and a long hike, but I will try my best to keep maximum focus.

I used to smoke ever since I was 18, I was able to quit radically because of this and my health in general. It’s been 8 months (on April 20th, 2022). Funny thing, it’s on the day that I worked up the courage to share this.

I couldn’t be prouder of myself.

This amount is impossible for me and my mother, we’re both struggling a lot, so, I write you with a lot of sadness.

Only I know how many sleepless nights I’ve had, nights where the tears of sadness were strong and I would ask the heavens to be able to accomplish this… Being able to smile, without fear, being able to have a good nutrition, stability… I recently found out that my bad teeth don’t affect me just orally but could also be the root for my head, neck and back pains.

If you have empathy and my words touched your heart, I ask, for my own heart and for everything that is most sacred, that you contribute in any way you can to help me achieve my biggest dream.

Share the gofundme or even my post on Instagram is also a HUGE help, the more people help and read my story, the closer we get to the goal. Help me be happy and have a more stable life. Please. I will certainly also help anyone who needs it, when and in any way I can.

Gratitude, Peace, Lots of health and love for your hearts.

Thank you! From my heart. I am and I will always be eternally grateful with the huge wave of solidarity I’ve been feeling, thank you for existing and being so good, thank you all for your time to read me and get to know a little bit about me, for your sharing and for all the help and enormous love you’ve been sending my way. I don’t know who you all are, but I like you all so much. Thank you for making me believe more and more on the good side of humanity (good always wins).

After all, there are still so many good people in this world, that same world that has been chaos, as we know. I’m grateful to you, I’m happy that you exist, for real!

Thank you for changing my life, that is now a bit yours too, and my world.

P.s. Only help me monetarily if you can, if you’re also struggling I ask only that you share as much as you can, if you want to and feel like doing so. Do not take from yourself to give others if you also need it a lot. I meant it.

Lots of kisses and warm hug,

With love,

Bruno Silva
