Help Sofia Learn To Walk!

Sofia was born on November 7, 2008. She was a healthy, typical infant. When she was 4 months old, her mom began to notice behaviors that just didn't seem right. She was taken to the hospital and after many tests she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Two days later, Sofia underwent brain surgery to remove the tumor. Luckily the tumor was benign but unfortunately, the tumor was in an area of the brain that controls walking, talking and other basic skills that we all so easily take for granted. Sofia has since had several other procedures to help maintain the shunt in her brain. She still receives different types of therapy to help her work on skills such as walking and talking. Her parents are so dedicated to her recovery and are so hopeful that one day, she will walk. There is a new device that would help with teaching Sofia how to walk and this site is intended to help with the cost of this device.
