For those of you that know me, you've probably heard that I recently injured my wrist in a big bad way: an unfortunate slip caused a fractured and severely dislocated radius. To anybody, such an injury would no doubt be annoying, painful, and expensive - to say the least. As a minimally-insured, self-employed pianist, it was lifechanging.
Thanks to the amazing doctors at Sutter Roseville, I was able to book and undergo necessary reparatory surgery for the insertion of a titanium plate and 2 pins inside my right wrist - and I'm already on the mend.
However, the real weight of my injury has manifested itself in the financial aftermath. Not only did the timing of the injury result in the loss of two major previously booked gigs, it left me bogged down in a SEVERE amount of medical bills.
It is VERY difficult for me to ask for help, especially in the form of funds, but after a few weeks of checking the books and counting my losses, I'm at a point of true need. And that is what has now led me to turn to you, the amazing arts community and family of Sacramento!
Your donations will go towards covering the mammoth cost of the emergency room visit, x-rays, surgery, anesthesia, hospitalization, medications, and the weeks of required hand therapy. But it's not all frowns! As a working musician, I'm hoping to offer you not only my undying gratitude, but something in return.
