Sneaks Medical Care and Boarding

As many of you know in early August I was called to help an elderly lady who woke up to find a dog in her fenced in backyard. When i arrived I found a badly injured and scared dog. After tossing food, spoonfuls of peanut butter and 1 hour later her let me pet him. He tolerated me. He showed no aggresion only fear as his tail was between his legs and tight against his stomach. I could see how badly he had been abused. He had an ulcerated eye that caused his pupil to split in half, was walking with lame back hips, severly dehydrated and skinny. once I knew he would tolerate me I took him to South Paw Animal Health Clinic in Tampa,Fl. I will never forget after being with him for hours, we were sittinging in a waiting room for Dr.Drake, he put his head on my knee and looked up, defeated. Next thing I know he jumps into my lap and put his head against my chest! A break through moment! I knew at that moment he needed a name.I call him Sneaks. It wound up Sneaks has a minor case of heart worms and is now on Heart Gaurd for a slow kill. He also had his eye removed due to the damage,had all of his shots and was nuetered. South Paw has been very generous with the time and patience in his recovery and agreed to allow him to stay for a week while i tried to find a foster or forever home. He had been the lead story on the 11 o'clock news and even in People Magazine online and  that one week has turned into  over 6 weeks. I am happy to announce  Sneaks has a new home to go to in Maine on a farm with a very loving and caring lady! She was right here in Tampa and is moving back to her home. He has fully recovered and everyone who meets him has fallen in love. I cant thank all of you who networked and rallied hard for him to get a home. It helped restore some of my faith in humanity that many of us in animal rescue lose. I have to ask for help one more time. South Paw discounted me generously but there is still finances to be paid. I am asking for donations to help cover the rest of Sneaks medical and boarding bill. I have already paid some but really need help with the rest. In all of my years of animal rescue I have only had to ask for help 2 times. I can usually cover the standard medical out of my own pocket. This bill covers his Boarding, Meds, Nueter,Catheterization, Anesthesia, Radiograph,Heart Gaurd and food. I would never ask for this help if i did not need it. The most important thing in helping an animal is the life of the animal. I always worry about money later...... Thankyou and please share his story.
