Papua New Guinea Trip

Hi! My name is Hannah Slingerland and I am a missionary kid. I have grown up in Venezuela, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama. Currently, I am attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio. I have left behind Central America to live in the country that I claim as my own but have never truly experienced until now. I went from living in the tropics to experienceing all four seasons (including -20 degree winters, yikes!). However, after my first year here at MVNU, I have come to the realization that no country is my home because they all are. I have had the gift of seeing parts of the world that many have not. Because of this gift, I have been able to identify with many people. My goal is to be a teacher someday who can instill in the minds of my students that there is a world outside their town, state, and country. My dream is to grow in my knowledge of the world so that I can share it with others. I've had the privelege of going on many missions trips in Central America and the Carribean. However, I have never left this side of the world.
Consequently, I have been presented with the awesome opportunity to go on a trip to Papua New Guinea during January 2015. This trip includes service projects for the missionaries living there, serving locals with church activities (VBS, construction, etc), as well as experiencing the culture of the people there. I am super excited about this new adventure before me. I have the feeling that it will be life changing. However, I need your help! You, yes you!
