Bucket List

In 2004 I started experiencing some of the complications associated with juvenile diabetes.  I lost my eyesight twice that year and subsequently lost my job as a computer animator. Luckily I regained my vision through surgery . No sooner had I regained my eyesight I contracted Osteomyelitis by stepping on one of my own whiskers which got infected resulting in having my left foot amputated. In 2005 the rest of my left leg had to be amputated below the knee. A month after losing my left leg I went blind and this time I had the procedure done but the doctors assured me that I would  not regain my sight. I was poised to go to the school for the blind when my sight began to gradually return. This was a miracle! As of a year ago I lost use of my right leg due to a bone infection. Osteomyelitis had set in my femur on my right leg. I had to have my entire femur as well as a portion of my pelvis removed leaving me wheelchair bound. While still hospitalized and recuperating from the removal of the infected bone I was told my kidneys had failed and I was going be have to start dialysis immediately. I was recently told that the dialysis was not cleaning my blood properly. I spent November, December and January in the hospital until the doctors finally found blood clots in my Carotid Artery. For the first time I was unsure if I would make it through this ordeal. So...I made a bucket list which brings me to this site.

I was a professional musician from my freshman year in high school until 2000 at which time I took a more mainstream job but continued making music as well as teaching myself how to record.  Music has always been a great source of joy and is solely my only interest. To my dismay I had to sell off all my prized music equipment  in order to pay an ever growing mountain of bills. My old band mates from high school and I want to record one final record before I am gone.  Not only does recording a final record mean a lot to me but it means a lot to my old mates. I can no longer drive so my freedom is gone. My days consist of watching the same reruns over and over along with trips to dialysis. I am just wasting my days away. The only thing that brings me joy now is making music. I am trying to collect money to buy a Gibson Les Paul guitar. There are cheaper guitars out there but I have always wanted a Les Paul. So...this is an attempt to cross off an item of my bucket list. Since I am unable to work making this dream come to fruition is impossible.  I realize this is shameless but I have nothing left to lose. I lost my dignity many years ago when my health went into steady decline. The list of my medical and personal tragedies is far too lengthy to list so I opted to give you the abridged version. I have tried to keep the aforementioned events as close to their chronological order as possible but I have sustained some memory issues over the last few years making exact dates somewhat fuzzy.
Thank you for taking the time to read this lame attempt to tell my story.
